Our Technology | Zoono Canada

Ingredients? Simple. Safe.

Our water-based formulation is suitable for the most delicate skin. We use a compound which has been trusted by health professionals for years. Zoono is completely unique.  The ingredients in Zoono which combine to provide germ-free protection are Benzalkonium Chloride (contained in toothpaste) and 3-trimethoxysilyl propyl dimethyl octadecyl ammonium chloride (silica compound found in shampoo, dish detergents and conditioners). The names sound complicated, but these two ingredients are found in everyday household items. It's our unique formulation and mixing process that creates Zoono's "magic". How safe is it? In its liquid state, Zoono has a similar toxicity level to vitamin C. During most presentations Zoono staff spray our formula into their mouths to prove our non-toxic claims (not recommended of course!). Would someone spray a traditional sanitizer in their mouth? We'll let you ponder that.

The Zoono difference

Gentle & Non Toxic – Zoono’s germ defence technology works by mechanical means. Dangerous chemicals are not necessary to kill germs.

Alcohol Free – Alcohol kills germs by dehydrating microbes and can lead to dry skin.  Zoono’s body range is water-based, it may take a little longer to dry but it is gentle and doesn't dry out your skin.

Kills 99.99% of Germs – Germs cannot build up a resistance to our unique formulation. Zoono continues to amaze independent laboratories around the world with outstanding germ reduction results.

Active For 30 Days on Surfaces - Once dry, Zoono's home range will stay active for up to 30 days to protect surfaces from germs.

Active For Up To 24 Hours on Skin- Zoono’s body range provides 24 hour protection against germs on skin.

Approvals- Zoono has food safety approvals in Australia and New Zealand.

Supporting Evidence - Zoono products enjoy numerous official approvals from the countries we operate in. Zoono Technology claims are supported by independent testing laboratories around the world.

How does it work?

Zoono does not use poison, chemicals or an alcohol to kill bacteria. Zoono is food safe and water-based with a similar toxicity level (LD50) as vitamin C.

Zoono is applied as a mist, foam or wipe then left to dry.
Once dry, Zoono resembles a bed of microscopic pins that attract, pierce and kill pathogens – the same principle as a pin popping a balloon. And in the same manner that the burst balloon cannot be reformed, neither can the pathogens – this means NO resistance and NO superbugs!
